Platinum-Coated Titanium Felt (PtTi) — High-Performance Electrode
Titanium felt with electrodeposited or sputtered platinum coating (0.1 mg/cm² – 2 mg/cm² Pt loading) for high-performance electrochemical applications where titanium’s corrosion resistance combines with platinum’s catalytic activity. The platinum coating also prevents surface oxide growth that increases contact resistance in long-term PEM electrolyzer operation.
Key Specifications
- Base: Grade 1 Ti felt, 0.5 mm – 2 mm thick
- Pt loading: 0.1 – 2.0 mg/cm² (customizable)
- Deposition method: Electrodeposition or sputtering
- Coating uniformity: ≥90% surface coverage
- Porosity retained: ≥95% of uncoated felt
Applications
- PEM electrolyzer anode with low-resistance Pt interface
- HER/OER catalyst support (Pt-on-Ti felt)
- Dimensionally stable electrochemical electrode
- High-temperature catalytic reactions
