This gateway connects serial Modbus RTU devices to an Ethernet network as Modbus TCP, so your SCADA, PLC or software can read them over the LAN. It is ideal when a PLC or SCADA only has an Ethernet port.
At a glance
- Modbus RTU (RS485) to Modbus TCP
- 1, 2 or 4 RS485 ports
- 256 or 512 data points, 0X, 1X, 3X and 4X mapping with Ax+B scaling
- Up to 4 concurrent Modbus TCP clients on port 502
- Writes from TCP are forwarded to the RTU device
- DC 9 to 30 V, DIN rail, -20 to 70 degC
Where it is used in Malaysia
- Factories linking old RS485 meters and drives to a SCADA over Ethernet
- Energy monitoring for sub-meters and switchboards
- Solar inverters and generator controllers
- Water and wastewater plants with mixed serial devices
How it works
The gateway polls your RTU slaves and holds their values in Modbus TCP areas. Your TCP client reads those areas as if it were talking to a normal Modbus TCP device. Services, devices and points are set from a web page, with status view, CSV import and firmware update.
